How do I get an artist invitation for The New York Tattoo Convention?
If you are an artist interested in joining The New York Tattoo Convention, please complete our artist application to be considered.
Check-in and load-in.
When and where is artist check-in?
Artist check-in will take place on Friday, November 13, from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the main entrance to the Duggal Greenhouse.

Can I check in on Thursday?
No. There will be no artist check-in on Thursday. All artists must check in during the Friday check-in period.
Can I receive an assistant badge?
Each artist may receive one assistant badge upon request. An assistant badge does not include or replace admission for your client. Clients must have their own convention admission ticket.
When will I receive my booth assignment?
Booth assignments will be available at artist check-in. They will also be posted on the website for reference leading up to the event.
Can I bring my vehicle inside the Navy Yard for load-in?
Vehicle access is restricted and limited to 15 minutes for unloading only. Once unloading is complete, your vehicle must immediately be relocated to a parking destination outside the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Shared booths
Booths are shared between two artists unless arrangements were made in advance to purchase a full booth.
What each booth includes
- Two tables
- Four chairs
- Distilled water
- Paper towels
- Electricity
- Trash can
- Sharps container
Stencil station
A shared stencil station will be available at the front of the venue.
Tattoo beds
Tattoo beds are available to preorder. Reserve yours before the event using the official preorder link.
When may clients enter early?
Artists may bring scheduled clients onto the show floor before doors open to the public only during the approved times below.
Clients may enter after 1:00 PM and only after the convention has passed inspection.
Artists and their scheduled clients may begin as early as 10:00 AM.

Early access does not replace convention admission. Clients must have a valid ticket.
The show floor closes precisely at the posted time.
Once Best of Day concludes, we will begin shutting down the show floor. Artists must plan their appointments accordingly, honor the convention hours and exit the building in a timely fashion.
This policy applies to every artist. Being difficult with convention staff or disregarding show-floor closing rules may result in the artist not being invited back to The New York Tattoo Convention.
Tattoo contests.
Each artist booth includes complimentary tattoo-contest entry for the artist's clients.
Work by attending artists
General contest categories are open to fresh or healed work completed by tattoo artists attending the convention.
Completed that day
Best of Day is for a fresh tattoo started and finished at the convention on the same day it is entered into the competition.
Single artist
Best of Show is for a piece completed by one artist and started and finished at the convention.
Multiple artists
Best of Show Collaboration is for a piece completed by multiple artists and started and finished at the convention.

If you have trouble booking, contact the convention and we will ask whether additional rooms can be added. If you call the hotel, tell them you are with The New York Tattoo Convention to receive the show rate.
Parking and rideshare.
Where should artists park?
Paid parking is available in the parking garage at 299 Sands Street, Brooklyn, NY 11205. The garage is located across from Wegmans and outside the Brooklyn Navy Yard gate.
Artist vehicle access inside the Navy Yard remains limited to 15 minutes for unloading. Vehicles must then be relocated outside the Navy Yard.

Once inside the Navy Yard gate, follow signage to the event.
Smoking and vaping.
Can I smoke or vape inside the venue?
No. Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the Duggal Greenhouse.
