Tickets &
Admission
Where can I purchase tickets?
Tickets may be purchased in advance through Eventbrite or at the door during the convention.
Does everyone need a ticket?
Guests ages 17 and older require a ticket for admission. Guests ages 16 and under enter free and must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.
Does my admission ticket include a tattoo appointment?
No. Convention admission and tattoo appointments are separate. Every attendee age 17 or older needs an admission ticket, even if they already have an appointment with an artist.
Are tickets refundable or transferable?
Tickets are nonrefundable. An unused ticket may be transferred to another person before it is redeemed. Once a ticket has been redeemed, the issued wristband is not transferable.
Can I leave and return to the convention?
Yes. Same-day re-entry is allowed with a valid convention wristband. Wristbands cannot be transferred to another person.
Getting
Tattooed
Do I need an appointment, or will walk-ups be available?
Appointments are not required, but they are highly recommended if you are interested in a particular artist. Many participating artists will have walk-up availability all weekend long. Contact your preferred artist directly to ask about availability and their appointment process.
How old do I have to be to get tattooed?
You must be at least 18 years old to get tattooed in New York. A valid, government-issued photo ID is required.
How much will a tattoo cost, and how can I pay?
Each artist sets their own pricing and accepted payment methods. Please discuss pricing, deposits and payment directly with your artist. ATMs will be available at the convention.
Will piercing or permanent makeup be available?
Yes. Both piercing and permanent makeup (PMU) will be available at the show. You must be at least 18 years old and present a valid, government-issued photo ID.

Will there be tattoo contests?
Yes. Tattoo contests will feature artists' clients with both fresh and healed tattoo work. Contest categories and times will be listed on the Schedule & Contests page.
Will food and drinks be available?
Yes. The convention will have food trucks, a beer truck, a full bar and a coffee bar. A valid, government-issued photo ID is required to purchase alcohol.
Can I bring outside food, drinks or personal bags?
Yes. Outside food and drinks are permitted, and attendees may bring personal bags into the convention.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are not permitted in tattooing areas for health and safety reasons.
Is the convention appropriate for families?
Yes. The New York Tattoo Convention is an all-ages event. Guests ages 16 and under enter free and must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.
